3. What is the minimum operating pressure available in Membrane Housing?

5. What is the Design Qualification Pressure in Membrane Housing?

The design is qualified by building a prototype vessel which is subjected to 100,000 cycles over a pressure range of atmospheric pressure to that of the design pressure. Then the prototype vessel that is cycle tested is subjected to hydrostatic qualification test and the prototype vessel has to withstand a pressure not less than SIX times the design pressure.

6. How many membranes can be assembled in one Membrane Housing?

7 membranes of 40” length can be assembled in one membrane housing. (For 8 membranes please contact your nearest CodeLine™ representative).

7. What are the different sizes of feed concentrate ports available in 8.0” Membrane Housing?

9. What is the minimum temperature membrane housing can withstand?

20 degrees F

10. What is the maximum temperature membrane housing can withstand?

190 degree F (CodeLine™ offers such high operating temperature as a standard feature in its OCTA series. Check the product bulletin of respective model for standard operating temp).

11. What is the manufacturing & safety standard CodeLine™ membrane housing adhere to?

ASME – Section X

12. Which are the various Quality Certification Pentair has?

13. What is ‘Chemical Cleaning'?

It is the process of cleaning RO membranes with certain recommended chemicals to prevent the organic, inorganic and biological fouling of RO membranes.

14. When should the ‘Chemical Cleaning' of RO membrane carried out?

Membrane should be cleaned with suitable chemicals in any of the following circumstances:
When the normalized permeate flow drops by 10%.
When the normalized salt passage increases by 5%.
When the normalized differential pressure increases by 15%.

15. What is the pH tolerance range for CodeLine™?

The pH tolerance range is 3 – 10 for CodeLine™ housing.

16. What is the effect on the pH of water after passing through RO membranes?

The pH of water slightly decreases after RO membranes.

17. What is 'Cation – Anion' ratio of water?

In water, the total cations are always equal to total anions and hence the 'Cation – Anion' ratio is one.

18. Why is pre-treatment of raw water necessary in RO?

It is necessary to increase the life of membranes and decrease the operation and maintenance problems.

19. What is the most popular configuration of pre-treatment of RO?

Chlorination – Filtration – Dechlorination – Antiscalant Dosing – Micron Filtration.

20. What is double pass RO?

In double pass RO the two RO systems are used in series. Normally double pass RO is used when high purity of water is desired.
